Kindle Fire is Burning it up. (Apple iPad 2′s that is)

Kindle Fire is the latest addition to Amazon’s arsenal of high tech tablet weaponry.  As most people know Amazon pretty much invented the e-book market with it’s Kindle device.  This latest iteration of the Kindle (the Fire) has taken it’s utiliatarin ebook reader squarely up against the Apple fan boy legions.  It’s lighter, much cheaper, does more, has cloud backup, fits in one hand, and did I mention it’s cheaper?  Like $300 cheaper?  For the price of on base model Apple IPad 2, you can buy two and a half Kindle Fire’s.  You can use one at home, put one at work, or give the extra to your wife or love, and still have a crisp hundred dollar bill in your hand.

Is that even possible?  How can someone build a tablet device as good as or better (in my opinion) as Apple and sell if for 60% less?  I think it pretty much tells you that Apple is out of control.  They has such a legion of rabid fan boys that they could wrap a brick up in tin foil, call it the iBrick, price it at $300 and sell out the first day.  What does that say about the fan boys?

Now granted if the Kindle Fire was made in China by a third tier coofee pot maker, and sold here in a flea market, I’d spot you the iPad.  But this is Amazon for god’s sake.  AMAZON!  The world’s leading online retailer.  They stand behind their stuff just as good as if not better than Apple.  You are really, really going to have to want an Apple iPad in order to pay 2.5 times as much for it than the rip roaring Kindle Fire.

Most of the important specs on the 2 devices are about equal. (except the price)  Some differences are not what they seem.  The iPads 9.7 inch screen seems much bigger than the advanced 7″ screen of the Kindle Fire.  Well Amazon did the 7″ screen on purpose.  It makes the unit able to be held in one hand, a common gripe with the iPad.  If you’ve ever fumbled a $500 iPad like I have, you’ll know appreciate this feature.  And the iPad at 16 Gb of storage seems bigger than the Kindle Fire’s 8 Gb.  But how about unlimited storage?  That’s what Amazon offers in the form of cloud storage.  Now the cloud is a fancy name for a huge bank of servers at Amazon.  It’s redundat, backed up and bulletproof.  So you will never lose your stuff.  When you fumble your iPad 2 and drop into a puddle, you’ll lose whatever isn’t at iTunes.  And if you are into heavy downloading, that 16 Gb is puny.  Try UNLIMITED storage at Amazon.  Yeah I knew that would perk up your ears.

OK so we know that the Kindle Fire rocks.  How do you get one you say.  Well they are actually one of the highest demand items this Christmas season.  They aren’t even on sale yet, and have sold tens of thousands of units.  They start shipping Nov. 15th, but if you wait until then, you won’t get one.  Click this link – Kindle Fire, and go to Amazon and preorder yours and be one of the lucky ones.  And when somebody with an iPad walks into a room, feel free to burst out into laughter that they overpaid to have the Apple name by $300.  You are hereby approved to mercilously abuse them for being a silly fan boy.  That’s all for now.
